asus RMA

Thread Starter
i just rma-ed my mobo and
just wondering
1. How long does it take? (Seems like everyone is saying like 2 weeks....which is way to long)
&
2. and would it be worth it to buy a cheap 1366 mobo from newegg and then return it in the mean time?? I know about the restocking fee but I got school and stuff to be doing on it..:S
so
What would you all do?
Don't buy something just to return it, that's exactly why places are forced to charge restocking fees. Contact Asus, have them do an advanced replacement for you - they will put a hold on your credit card, and send you a new board, once they receive your board they will take off the hold.

You didn't qualify for advanced replacement? (Cross-Shipping)

I would go to a local shop and get a mobo to avoid restocking.

"School and stuff" sounds like something that can be completed on campus or at a local library.

Don't abuse the return methods.

Those are all old boards - most premium Asus boards (should) qualify - call Asus up directly, they are very willing to help as much as possible

My 890gx took almost a month. I also RMA'd my Gskill RAM sticks aswell (for memory's sake) a week after my mobo, and they came back a week before it. It's a sketchy RMA system, they don't contact you what so ever, or let you know they if they received it or not. They sent me a brand new mobo atleast. That was my experience...
