HD6970 for 3D. What do I need?

I swear to you AMD/ATI has made this a while goose chase. How and what do I need to achieve my goal of a single monitor 3D setup?

I know this has been asked alot; But I see nothing but posts from 09 and old blog posts from my google searches.

Just looking for some people who have successfully achieved a 3D setup with a single monitor and ATI graphics. Nvidia is out of question because apparently done of the 500 series cards want to work with my motherboard.

I can't seem to find anywhere that has those monitors? The one you linked me looks nice but it apparently isn't being sold by any reputable place anywhere?
