Can my MotherBoard run Crossfire?

My Mother board is a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P

I know it is capable of crossfire but my question is this....The second PCI slot is a PCIEX 8_1 INSTEAD of PCIEX 16_1 like the first one is so I already have 1 ATI 5750 and I want to crossfire it but what is the difference between the 8_1 and the 16_1 and will it slow down the second card?

When you put your second card in, it will run both cards at 8x bandwidth, you won't see any performance degradation, they have done studies of 16X vs 8x, and even on high end cards there is little to no performance loss. Grab that 2nd card and enjoy the performance increase

I thought you didn't need anything but a mobo with at least 2 pcie x16 lanes for CF.

Both cards will run in 8x in CF.
With those cards there probably wont even be noticeable difference.

Okay cool, I was seriously starting to consider selling this card and just get a 6870 or 5870
