This memory good for SB build?

Thread Starter
Ok so I have chosen my mobo for my SB build, and now I need to chose my ram.
This is what I am currently looking at.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=8&subcat=1387

Are they good? I currently am on sort of a budget, so I wont be able to go any higher, however I don't want to buy cheap parts, like the build I have now.

I also noticed allot of members have 8GB nowadays, is it recommended for gaming now?
no, no game uses more than 2/3 gb's of ram anyway, I think people just buy it to future proof there pc and/or if they render videos and other media.

There's really no need to acquire 2133mhz ram(Thats just pointless and a bad investment if your on a budget)

I would invest in slower ram that'll give you more for your money say a slower 1333mhz DDR3 8gigabyte dual channel then a more expensive 2133mhz DDR3 4gigabyte dual channel kit_

As according to most reviews and so, anything above 1600mhz is pointless(except for benchmarking reasons, since there is no real life performance gains that you'll notice, in fact at 1333mhz you really won't notice the difference between 1333mhz & 1600mhz)

Get yourself a Dual channel 8gb GSkill kit because that way you'll be future proofing yourself when the time comes to us needing 32gb of ram =]

4gb will get you by but I've seen improvements using 8gb of ram_

Here you go mate_

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-440-_-Product

Now I don't know if newegg ships internationally (you can try), if they do then get these _

they are at 104.99 and minus the $25 off w/ promo code EMCKGGJ48, ends 4/6/11, they are price right at $79.99(US Dollars)

Otherwise search around some more or save a few more dollars and wait to purchase a good set_

I did some searching around, an found these, http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Pr...-1333-10666MHz

Cheapest 8GB kit I could find, and fits perfectly in my ram budget.

i have these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820104239

mine are stable at 9-11-9-27 1T at 1866mhz.... pretty nice overclock for 8gb dims

if you do the conversion to £ they are only a couple of dollars more expensive
