ok im kinda old school, and SSD is a new thing to me. I know that it acts as a hard drive for laptops but people are starting to use them for desktops as well. IDK why this is, i mean why not just use a hard drive. please help.

why such small space ? because since ppl will still buy low space with high price , not necessary to increase it so soon i think ?

Small because they're all NAND memory. They come in much larger sizes, but they're expensive. It's the same thing as HDD > Caviar Black > Raptors. It's just the next progression. Space starts small and you sacrifice it for speed. They'll catch up eventually, but they're supposed to have their benefits. Though I understand they're pretty pointless for the average user, like myself. Faster game load times and application loads are pretty much it. Supposed to be big gains with people doing heavy media work.
