good comparison

I paid $200 for that CPU-how much did you pay for yours?

^This. I'm tired of everyone bragging like SB is some revolutionary CPU,it isn't.

I agree with that, most games are optimized for Intel code or are a console port. Nice K7 system btw.

Those are just benchmarks really, in games or just using your computer in general your not going to see a huge improvement. Besides if we bring money into the equation, I still think AMD is better bang for your buck.

Really? is there any need to be arsey? The only reason i posted this thread was to share my experience of upgrading to SB. I for one was search for a good set of benchmarks prior to upgrading and hope that someone of the same thought may stumble upon this thread in th future.
I love AMD, they are great bang for buck chips and served me really well.
So this isnt a AMD bashing thread so dont get so AMD fanboy defensive! Chill!

If you want to put it like that, then he's comparing a 225 USD current CPU to a ~250 USD last gen CPU (that was approx. it's release price.) Or compare my chip to that 965.. Same results, yes?

Anyway, I thought the benchmarks he chose were incredibly meaningless. PCMark? SuperPI? ...

Thanks for posting the infos,i understand sandys run cooler too,
which of course is a nice bonus not needing so many noisy fans.
How does motherboard prices scale in comparison too? your amd mobo/your intel mobo
just to level the playing field as the rest of the components in a system could be interchanged.

Cheers, glad my results were of some intrest, and that not everyone is slating me for my 'meaningless' results.
Im sorry guys, but i like benchmarking, and i generally find that if a component increases you PCMark / Super Pi score, or whatever 'synthetic' program i choose to use, that generally translates into a better, faster computer experience at the end of the day. And thats all i care about

You mainly getting grief for posting your new Intel CPU in a AMD thread section. Same thing happens when you post results from a XSPC RASA 240 or 360 water cooling system in the Corsair H50/H70 thread. Better off just leaving them alone.
