Just left the AMD - Page 3

The OP is doing the right thing letting those that don't know (if any) that sandy bridge is comparable in price for the cpu and a worthy upgrade from AMD at the moment.

I tried benching the other day because someone told me i was lying when i posted a northbridge cpuz of 38xx mhz,so i done some benchs which dont really go to show the system is altogether much more cohesive and snappy-proved i weren't lying though

There will probably we similar posts in the Intel section in a few months when bulldozer comes out.

I am old enough to remember the butthurt amd gave out to the blue camp when athlon64 come out, life goes in circles and im sure the OP is very happy with his system and wants others to reap those same rewards by swapping over to intel.

Anyway, I thought the benchmarks he chose were incredibly meaningless. PCMark? SuperPI? ...
Eh. Price changes with demand. It's not really useful to compare the current price of a just-released good with past prices of a soon-to-be-replaced good, especially when the pricing between the two is related. I'm not arguing that Sandy Bridge is not more powerful, faster, etc, etc, I'm just saying that the comparison being drawn isn't really that useful. If you care about benchmarking and results, by all means go for the higher performing chip and have fun with it.

I will miss you on this forum area and i hope other AMD forum section buddyes will miss you too.

Belive me ,if AMD users would have the money to buy only Intel stuff we would.

The main option in choosing AMD is the price of the whole PC, in relation to the real world aplication performance.

In my country with the money spend on a Intel new gen mobo and CPU you can get a nice performant AMD PC.To make the Intel one complete i need to sell an arm and a leg .Which would be a waste of money this days. With the left money i can get a better PSU ,games, genuine OS ,a real soundcard , etc.
