So right now, there isn't that much of a benefit of using SATA III for a single-drive setup for the OS (as opposed to RAID) because of the high cost. I think that SATA II is the sweet spot in this respect.
So if I understand correctly running a pair of sata II ssd drives would be the same as running one much more expensive sata III ssd drive?

EDIT
I should have been more specific in a raid0 setup

For example: Rosewill's Green Series is a quality line of SeaSonic-made PSUs while the rest of Rosewill's PSUs should probably be avoided. Thermaltake's "TR2" units are not any good at all while their Toughpower units are pretty good quality. Antec's Basiq units are junk while their TruePower New series offers the best bang-for-buck available.

However, you almost can't go wrong with any SeaSonic power supply.
How are Antec's "Earthwatts" PSU's? Would they be in between the Basiq and Truepower in terms of quality?

Didn't read through all 18 pages so I don't know if anyone has mentioned this... if you plan to get an SSD then you need Windows Vista or 7. I recommend 7. XP will not format an SSD properly nor will you get the proper performance/setup without a lot of having to do it manually.

In an raid setup SATA II SSDs can come close and even surpass an single SATA III SSD depending on the controller used and the number of drives, but not the other way around.
The other problem with RAID0 is, when one drive becomes defective all data is lost.
But then comes the cost factor into play, cause >2 SATA II SSDs are usually more expensive then a SATA III SSD with the same (/combined) storage capacity.
And if you dont have an SATA III (aka SATA 6.0 Gbs) controller it would make no sense to buy one unless you plan to upgrade your system later on.

I didn't follow the whole conversation, but I would suggest going right for a seasonic PSU. If you are in the US and looking to buy something locally, best buy (blech) carries Corsair PSUs which are pretty amazing to be honest. I now have two comps running corsair due to me being unable to wait for a shipped PSU, and I don't have a single complaint.

IMO, the only Antec PSUs worth a damn anymore ask for far too much premium.

I know Corsair makes awesome stuff, but i got this PSU during a Newegg sale,i'm wondering if it can handle a GTX560 Ti or a HD6870.
