It's not associated per se, but rep is a great way to show that you are a trusted, helpful, and respected member of the forums; therefore it is assumed you can be a responsible seller. It's just to protect the members against scam/fraud, as if we didn't have a minimum rep count, people could just sign up and post sales.

Think of it as a way of moderation, it may seem irritating at first, but it's a preventative meaure, and assures that the person you are buying from is legit.

The iTrader ratings themselves are just like eBay feedback really. Also, note that you only need 35 reps to sell, or post in the wanted section. You can buy things as soon as you sign up.

There should be a little link at the top of the page to the Rules section, if I remember. (on my phone right now).

Yep I think I found it as I am reading through it now. I wasn't looking to sell I was just wanting to post up a list of things that I want to buy from members so I may not have to keep checking the for sale thread so much. Or maybe someone would have a part that isn't listed for sale but would sell it if someone was looking for it. Which it looks like I can't even do that at this point either, but let me keep reading lol!

The 35 Rep limit is for creation of threads either selling, or looking for (Wanted) in the Marketplace section.

It's just easier this way, and it helps keep things under control. Think of it as a right of passage (of sorts ), it's something that is earned, not given.

What benchmark did you use to do this? Is it something that I can download for free to play with and see how it works?

I still think that the op's money is better spent on other components in his rig. He still needs fast storage and a 1TB spinpoint is plenty fast for that and the os at least for now. I see no rush to go out and buy a ssd.

Most importantly I havent seen the op mention what he plans on using his pc for.

No, it's my way of deleting my own post.

It's no worst than the year and a half or like 1000 posts (it might be more) at Rage. Do people here still use heatware? It is the universal feedback system on the forums.
