Trouble overclocking DDR3

Thread Starter
Overclocked my DDR3 to 1600 from 1333, and at first I wasn't getting a stable boot, so I upped the voltage a notch until I was able to boot. However, I sometimes get restarted, so I up the voltage one more notch...but this keeps happening.

Mobo supports 1666(OC)/1333. Might it be an issue that it's only running 1600 and not 1666?

How can I get my RAM at optimal timings and voltage?? :/

Running at 7-8-7-24, and I think 1.55V

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231303

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Produc/Product...82E16813128451

I'm new to this...thanks a lot

Well that's a bit of a dumb remark don't you think

The stock rating on that RAM is 1.65V, that is probably what you need

also that kit has psc ics. Put ur timings at 7-9-7-24 then test @ 1.65 volts.

I would try it at 1.6v instead of just jumping to 1.65v even tho it is the specd voltages. And are you sure your cpu si stable overclocked?

why not run the ram at spec voltage. You dont have to worry about ram over 1.65 volts on amd. I ran my ram at 1.9 for a while and nothing happened as many others will vouch too.

Thank you I will try that. And how can I get it up to 1666 (if I should)? Do I have to oc the fsb to get there? Mobo won't let me clock it past x8, which is 1600.

What does PCS IC stand for?
