Trash talking more plox...

OT: I think newegg is probably just messing up with the status again, sometimes they're just out of stock and some crazy employee slaps "deactivated" on the product

Dang it. I knew I was forgetting something.
EVGA is right there with ASUS.
As for MSI, Crappy quality Power Phases/Low quality VRMs and poor PCB design make them a sketch choice for motherboards as far as im concerned. The best caps ever made dont help if they are put on a low quality motherboard.
And the reason Biostar is above them is that I see far superior VRM quality, the same/similar support, and similar features at a lower price point.
But thats me and my experiences with them.

For there cheaper boards I agree, for there higher end($150+) they are quality power phase and better vrm's than in there lower price boards.

Biostar or MSI?
Because In my experience MSI boards may have more phases, but they are never better quality than those that Biostar uses. Ive had FAR more MSI boards pop than Biostar across all price points where they are together, and ive ended up installing about the same number of each over the years. Ive had more high end MSI boards pop than lower end Biostar Boards too.

Whatever. No big deal. I love how MSI boards look and when coupled with a 32nm CPU I don't see a GD65 (6+2 I think?) dying unless someone goes completely nuts with it. and I mean NUTS. Like the suicide run to end all suicide runs.

For me the bottom line is that ASRock is offering good features at a good price and seems to be using decent quality components. Thats enough to have gotten me curious but not enough to get me confident. Ive done a LITTLE work with the Extreme4 and I was very impressed with it.

Yay more ASRock hate. Across all of this forum I've seen one ASRock board dead, which happened to be one of the same models I have. One, single, solitary board.

Please link me something showing proof that all ASRock boards are garbage as you claim.

My personal opinion, and this is mine and mine alone is biostar boards, generally are cheaper with less features than msi. Therefore u have people that don't push there overclocks on biostar while people think 4phase msi can handle a x6 overclocked to 4.2. It makes no sense to me..people calling msi horrible when they should know better than to push it that hard on a 4phase. Imo(and I could be wrong) if you took a msi board priced at $129 and a msi at $129(with same phase) and I believe not only could u oc higher on msi, it would last longer.

I hear that these ASRock P67 boards are quite good, and a great value for good features at a relatively low price. I have chosen the Extreme4 for my build, hopefully my dad orders it for me tonight or tomorrow. I would be so happy, I've been waiting to get one of these since the day before the big recall.

Anyway, I hope it's a good board, otherwise I will be upset. I have heard nothing but good things about the Extreme4 and Extreme6.

Apparently people think that a company that has been making trash for years can turn over a new leaf overnight. It will take a bit more than a little flash now and some advertising dollars to convince a lot of people that have been burned by Asrock. But you guys can go back to listening to either some guy who has this single Asrock board that works awesome, or you can listen to professional system builders who have installed thousands of components and have seen failure rates first-hand.
You don't have to take my opinion for it, do some research and find out what the review sites and users are saying. The ASRock P67 boards are fantastic. At this point I would be more nervous overclocking an MSI board than an ASRock. People used to say the same negative things about Biostar before they proved they could build great budget overclocking boards consistently. Making a blanket statement that all ASRock boards are garbage is just plain ignorant.

For what it is worth, I have been selling, building and supporting PC's since 1994. I started seriously overclocking back with a Celeron 333 overclocking it to 500 mhz. I have been addicted every since. I only do it on the side now (because when I do it 40 hours a week I don't work on my own stuff..because it feels too much like work) but still build about 10 gaming systems a year for friends and family or friends of friends and family.

I am OLD and old school....
