That's good to know but you shouldn't even bother with prime95 honestly. Run Intel Burn Test for 20 passes and if it makes it through your set. (roughly 20 minutes) It's just a faster way to test stability. BUT it gives you much higher temps. Roughly 10C, Or you can try running the OCCT Linpack test for 2 and a half hours. That's known to prove stability.

Also, not to be picky or anything but you might want to try a 250 FSB and a 16 multi. Higher FSB makes your overall system run better/faster.

And to everyone else.. It's perfectly stable according to a 2 hour test in OCCT @ 4GHz

Although once I bump the FSB up to 249 which makes it 4.1GHz I get a black screen 5 mins into OCCT. Same voltage and everything else. Any ideas? I'm not having the problem where it decreases my CPU speed anymore.. it kinda just went away o.O or maybe I changed something and forgot.

Thanks bro.. I would definitely do that.. Oh and by the way, you think I should up my core voltage for that matter, or just setting it to auto would do the trick?

Yes, either IBT or LinX. Prime sits at 302 watts and won't trigger it.

Oh. That's normal.

Run LinX and watch for it to happen in between each Run.

Not between... during.

When linx finishes a run, you can see on any software showing cpu usage that it goes down to one full core; IBT will claim max cpu usage in that software although it's doing the same thing. During these end-of-run doublechecks, the computer drops to about 230 watts from the wall before going back to full bore.

When this other phenomenon starts up, it drops below non-CnQ idle wattage at the wall by a good 15 watts or more. Full voltage is still getting to the chip, because if it was getting CnQ voltage it would fall to the neighborhood of 125 watts. Furthermore this happens 4-5 times every run, and always starting about 2/3 the way through when things are good and warm.

The only thing I can conclude is that it is keeping things at voltage but suspending CPU operations until the temps come down. Otherwise it wouldn't drop to 160 watts instead of the more normal 178 watts the computer takes when doing absolutely nothing at all.

Personally I (temporarily) gave up and am holding back at 3600 for now.
