I think this is funny, when AMD says "we dont support this and that.."

Later you see: core unlocking (even on some radeons), cache unlocking, various socket support..

It's still destroying the remains of what once was a Sandy Bridge LOL.

Cause people are going to be QQ'ing about "my X2 BE doesn't unlock to an X4 BE" or "my GPU got bricked because I flashed with higher model firmware" or this or that.

People are stupid. You have to reduce liabilities on your own end.

That's why when you design lets say a beam or something you OVERDESIGN it, if you expect a combined load of 1000 lb (500lb live load, 500 lb dead load) you design for a combined load of something like 1400 lb (I just randomly pulled that number out of the air but you get the point). Again, people are stupid and will QQ about anything and everything, I suspect this is a legal move on AMD's part. Sure you "can" do it, but we're not supporting it because it wasn't designed that way and if it doesn't work you're probably going to QQ about it and complain to anyone and everyone you meet how <insert company here>'s products suck.

New here because I read some things on here a little contradictory. So what is it that sells PCs? Cheaper processor faster than dearer Intel or hard disk size or other from that separate list?

Not worth disagreeing so passionately then not make sense, though I agree on the reasoning. I've been around CPU tech a very long time and I fully believe the following...

1) Bulldozer will be something radical

2) ..and become even more so in time, always had a feel for these things

3) I will build my first rig, since very first sli (before magazines were explaining how difficult it was)

4) Bears will definitely crap in some woods

Something I have a pet hate for..fanboys. I love tech innovation no matter who creates it. I do wish Intel fanboys would stop throwing their toys out of their prams, it's dull and boring. If not for AMD they would still be using a 787DDDDX 27.75 MHZ, LOL. I hated those drip feed days of speed bumps, though more like pimples, and extremely high pricing.

Hats off to Intel for Sandy Bridge but why does it exist? Amd. Or we would all be using Sandy Bridge, in about 2030!

I myself are just waiting to wallow in the bulldozer figures when they arrive. I also feel that there is a very good reason that AMD are tight lipped and another one why Intel and nVidia have become animated.

Like the old saying...the writing is on the wall! You just need to be able to read it!

Just my view.

Oh yes...

Was irresponsible but zero effect as..

AMD will not FAIL but will go from strength to strength over next couple of years, better late than never.

Also some people, other threads, should stop speculating over announcements they can't know anything about..

So some guy got fired..there could be a thousand reasons why that is...photographed frolicking with local cheerleaders while naked..or the football team! Maybe the radon bulldozer was not out earlier and stifled it. A personal problem maybe? But how in the world people can claim the demise of a company of AMFs stature and size on one man is ridiculous. I'm sure there would be hundreds of examples to debunk this out there.
