124 BSOD means You need to add some more V to QPI

intell data sheets list max voltages for i7 900 series as
CPU Core - 1.55
CPU VTT - 1.35
Stay under these and try to get it stable with the lowest voltage you can.
I have my I7-950 running 4.0ghz 24/7 stable ( its running great! ). Here are my numbers hope its a little help to you!

I have QPI / DRAM set to auto I figure that should be fine because:

At XMP profile 2 settings my ram is set to 1333MHz @ 7-7-7-20 with 1.4 QPI/Dram and 1.6V .

Right now my ram is at 1408 MHz @ 1.62V and 9-9-9-24.

When You're overclocking You should set all the settings to manual, auto is not recommended.

124 means lower/raise QPI volts, 1.4 V might be too much.

That guy from HardOCP has everything on auto just like me and we basically have the same motherboard.

I have tried manual settings too:

Ram: 1.32500 QPI / DRAM, 9-9-9-24, 1N, 1.62V, 1603MHz

CPU: 19x200, 1.35625, 1.88 PLL, 800mv differential, 3208 uncore, 7218 qpi link.

Basically no matter what settings I use I always get error code 124. No matter how high I raise my QPI / dram. 124 is the only error I ever get.

But I don't get why I should go lower than 1.4 qpi / dram while overclocking?

When my entire system was at stock speeds and my ram was at xmp profile 2 it set the qpi to 1.4. Wouldn't I have to make it higher because of the overclock to the ram and cpu?

btw I have tried going down all the way to 1.2 QPI and up all the way to 1.5 QPI and still got BCCode 124. I have been trying to stabilize my overclock for days now and 124 has been plaguing me.

I think you should scrap your settings to stock and start over. Make sure you're stable at 2.66 and increase bclk by 2MHz at a time. You're in the weeds and there are too many variables.

Go back and do it slowly and methodically. I'd say start at 1.0~1.1v at 2.66. Mine stayed stable at 1.1v all the way to 3.4GHz.
