Vertex 3 vs Vertex 2? - Page 3

No sorry, you said even the 120 gb V3 is too expensive ( I agree they are taking the pi** with the prices) They are costing as much as a half decent laptop in a lot of cases!

The Agility 3 seems a good option give it a couple of weeks and the price will hopefully drop.

If youre mobo supports SATA6 the Agility 3 is an absolute heavy hitter.
The Agility 2 matched the Vertex 2/C300 in gaming/multi-tasking/multi-media, the only things I use my PC for.

But i already got a Vertex 3, i dont think it would be wise to sell it and go for Agility...

It's already plugged on SATA 6 port.

Well i started thisthread having 2x V2. Then one failed and got replaced with a 25nm V2. So i could not do raid no more and i replaced both of them with a V3. And then every post from page 2 and forward is with V3 in mind.

As for this options.I have write caching enabled but not the second option. Will i gain anythin by turning on the second option, and is it safe for the disk?

No it won't harm anything and I think that's where your speed lacks a bit. Also your cpu and 1333 ram may hold the dive speed back a tad.

SEE HERE then go tick it and see your speeds get up to scratch

Vertex 3 FTW... does your MB have Sata 6 GB/s connections? Much better controllers and better recycling techniques will keep the drive faster. If not you be limited to ~400MB reads and writes and the Vertex 2's in RAID will be slightly faster (~550MB/s) but will lose TRIM and be stuck with GC (garbage collection). I'd say go for the Vertex 3 and be future proof...

Are you refering me to write caching? This is already enabled. "Turn Off Windows write buffer" is the one that's not enabled..
