Vertex 3 vs Vertex 2? - Page 6

I see but since i did only have it attached it must have been something else. It keeps happening from time time. It's either AHCI related or for somereason the SSD fails to get recognised sometimes upon booting. If working on AHCI mode is not the problem, then what would cause an SSD not to show up after POST? I have double-triple checked cables are connected tightly to the mobo...

SSD Life though comes up as 100% health... Dont know what this means and if it clears me...

BTW Why is SSD life estimated as 8 years? Is it really that short?

And how come it knows how many times it has operated and for how many hours? Is this information stored on the Sandforce controller?

Yes interesting bout voltage as it says somewhere about just having the ssd on its own rail/source, and I had the not recognised problem when I also had the HDD on same rail, along with several, fans, fan controller, 4 port usb hub, nzxt lights, uv lights, dvd rom, and a few other things lol....Im just glad Im shot of the Vertex3 as far as Im concerned they had it right with the 32nand version V2's and skimping out on that was a bad move. This was my old V2 doing a quick Avast scan 22 seconds to do 15gb of data and goes up tp 700 mb/s the Vertex3 took 46 seconds to do 12.5 gb data on virtually exactly the same system (except it had less to scan) and only went up to 300mb/s. The C300 128gb I have now takes 54 seconds again with less data but restarts my system 4 seconds faster than the V3, both the C300 64gb and V2 were faster agin 28-29 seconds for a restart desktop to desktop. That a big difference when in effect we are just talikng about the shutdown (a few moments on all) and windows boot time

I thought about that (not getting enough power, or power not being delivered correctly) but i already do have it on its own rail. I dont have anything else connected on that cable....
