I am having serious issues now. All of a sudden when i play a game at full screen My refresh rate drops to 24. There is no way i can play games like this. I used to fix this with a custom resolution but now it doesn't work at all. Im finding HDMI a drag of a connection. And my tv dont support 1080p on analog. any ideas on how to fix this?

It's a TV. It's meant for watching videos and TV. Video's refresh rate never go above or below 24fps so it's good for a TV. Sorry.

You have to switch your TV to gaming mode if it has it.
Most movies are made with 24 fps.

HDTV+HDMI+PC=problematic

I need to know more before giving suggestions:-
1. How is the card connected to the HDTV? From a mini HDMI/HDMI output to a HDMI input of the HDTV?
2. What is the brand and model number of your HDTV?
3. Do you mean it has been giving this problem many times before. Each time you could fix it by using a custom resolution. Now, this trick does not work this time?

I am aiming for an once-and-for-all solution.

I was using a custom resolution and it allowed everything to work at 1080p60 but now it seems to not want to work anymore. I had a driver issue earlier while testing my graphics cards oc so i unsinstalled the drivers and reinstalled them. Im using the latest beta verion and they were working but now i cant seem to get it out of 24hz. I have been using this tv for a month or so now. its a toshiba 37e200.

EDIT:
Interesting, only happens in Crysis. Crysis 2 works fine as does all my other games. I wonder why that is.

I looked up your tv model. Hdmi to hdmi/minihdmi is the way to go. There shouldn't be a need for a custom resolution. If the tv has a "film mode", you may want to try disabling that. Otherwise, if the problem still exists, uninstall your NVIDIA driver, use driver sweeper and install the newest driver. From there, you should be looking at a fine picture.

Ex: I am using a gtx 460, hdmi to mini hdmi, to a 60" LED. The only change i make when gaming is shutting off the 120hz interpolation on the tv. It creates major mouse/ controller lag. Outside of that, Dirt2, hawx2 and NFS:HP all play at 60fps.

So, the problem only happens in Crysis.
Crysis and Crysis Warhead both have this issue of HDTV at 24Hz.

One 'fix' is to run the game at DX9.
Another fix is to edit the nv_disp.inf by adding "1920x1080x8,16,32,64 " into it. This is just similar to creating a custom resolution via the Control Panel. But as that method does not work for you, try this 'manual' addition.

I will look into the inf mod. But DX9 and Crysis sounds wrong. Thanks for the info.
