Extremely cheap 775 boards

Thread Starter
I was looking for a new 775 board for myself and stumbled across this deal.
One motherboard is only $1.30! These are new, not used/refurbed.
After shipping and handling it comes to around $17. =]
For 20 boards shipped it's around $82. lol

I want to buy this so badly, but it won't support my processor. xD

775 boards are still quite good. Not everyone has the money to buy a 1366 build....

Looking at the rest of their prices, that has to be a mispriced/typo item, right? I mean, I can't see it being only $13 or $130, but I somehow think that's a slip up.

I thought so too, but look at their bundle combo. lol
5-9 for $1.29 each.

I think they just really want to get rid of them.

This board does not support core 2 anything according to it's tech specs.

Exactly. This is an ancient 775 board. The best you could run is a Pentium D.

I'd be half tempted to grab it if it wasn't around ~$17 after shipping (I'm trying to save for upgrades to my primary PC which is far more of a priority). I have an older PC with a socket 478 motherboard, Pentium 4 2.8GHz, 2GB (2x 1GB) RAM, and an AGP GeForce 6800GS. I also have an LGA775 Pentium 4 641 laying around, and since that board has AGP and DDR, I'd effectively be use swap it all over and use the other CPU instead, and maybe get away without a Windows reinstall since it has the same chipset. It's not worth it for 400MHz though. If I could overclock it and/or shipping wasn't as much and/or it had PCI Express (I also have a GeForce 8800GT laying around), then maybe.

I don't even think it takes a Pentium D. The support list says Pentium 4 and Celeron only (a Celeron D is just a Prescott core Celeron, not a dual core chip). Remember, this is using a chipset from the later socket 478 days, so even the Pentium D was a while later.

if you need an extremely cheap single core setup, its not horrible

toss in this cpu
2.8GHz Socket 775 Pentium 4 Processor 520 Refurbished $15+6s/h
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0355473

and some ddr you have laying around

for under $30 its a great combo
