can a catalyst driver cause artifacts in some applications?

hi all!

just bought my new MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II OC edition and so far works perfectly except if I use MSPaint using the "select" tool dots starts to appear as shown below!



now this thing disappears when turning off the windows aero! every thing turn back to normal

the card's performance with games is perfect no artifact no freeze no crash no nothing for an hour of playing and used furmark for stability and still runs flawlessly


so what is it? is it a GPU problem or drivers problem?

That is very weird. How are you thinking that this is a GPU related issue?
