I only had 3.6.15 installed but this time I unistalled it manually. It worked! Thanks man, you saved my Google (Bing and yahoo suck for searching)
I still wonder how come it broke my connection though... I mean, why only when clicking on google search results and not any other place

Anyway, thank you for the help, people!

Now I'm off to google "FF4 google issues" Happy to be able to do that

OK, wow, I'm glad I can google again Here's a heads up, for people who have the same issue: http://support.mozilla.com/nl/questi...#answer-155274

Though, I didn't download a RC, I had the exact same google problem.

Ok, seems the issue remains after all. Whenever clicking a Google search result in Firefox, the connection drops out. In internet explorer, google works normally.

Internet works flawlessly, all sites open normally and at full speed. No internet disconnections at all, except when clicking a google search result.

Run Malwarebytes, there is a Trojan/virus that does this.
I had a machine come in a couple of months ago that this same problem was occurring.

Edit: If I remember right it had modified the HOSTS file, but don't hold me to that. It is 6am here and I have only had one cup of coffee lol.

Already scanned my pc for any virusses/trojans and other nasties. It's 100% clean. I just checked my hosts file too and it's clean.

I got Google search results working again by removing all cookies. There must be a site which messes thing up, I guess.

Well, at least it's solved for now ( and hopefully for good )

This is a totally diffrent version. Your not using a RC version.

I would speculate that something hijacked your host file. I would run hijackthis and see what entries you have and run virus, malware, adware, and spyware scans.

I know your problem was resolved, but this is my opinion of your problem.
