8800GT Aftermarket cooler?

Thread Starter
Was looking around for an aftermarket cooler for my old 8800GT which im going to be using soon while i RMA my 460. I have this model XFX 8800GT:

Not sure if this will fit my card or not. Is my 8800GT reference or non-reference? will the cooler fit? If so do you think anyone around here will have one up for sale? thanks ~Rowey

I have two 8800gt's with zerotherm 8800 heatsinks. Theyre discontinued but if you can find one they're great.

I used to have a Accelero S1 V2 on a 8800GT, kept it below 60c and they're super cheap

I used to have a DuOrb on my old 8800GT and it got to like 50C under load while volt modded.

Im thinking of kitting these together...

Fan
Sink
Clips

Does the heatsink cover vrm too or should i get some separate sinks for those?

I ran it without a fan for a while and it still never broke 65c while folding, the case had very good airflow though.

Oh and I don't think that fan clip would work with the heatsink, I just used cable ties...

It's a few quid cheaper here too

Yeah, cheers for the link ill snatch one of them. Can you remember what fan you used? when you plugged it into the card was it's rpm controllable? I might just run it without a fan? not really going to be gaming, just the stock cooler is so f'ing noisy on the XFX model. Just need something quiet till i get me 460 back.
Ah, I know what you mean! Noise bothers me to no end! I was about to ask why go to the trouble if it's just temporary.

I had an MSI GeForce 8600GTS OC that would run it's fan at 100% all of the time (supposedly unless it was used in an MSI motherboard) and it was loud! I know what that's like. My MSI GeForce 8800GT OC, however, was very nice and quiet with an aftermarket heatsink from the factory.

The GeForce GTX 560 Ti is merely pictured since it was from my recent upgrade.
