Yeah, it's a pretty weird issue!
My RAM voltage is at the RAM's rated 1.80V. My CPU-Northbridge link is at 1.30V with LLC on 100%. But let's put it out there - even with my entire computer at boring, old stock settings, my RAM just won't run at 1600MHz (with all the RAM parameters manually set to stock). My brother has the same experience...

(Not trying to hijack your thread OP)
Like OP said explore your bios and mobo settings to see what options you really have as far as pushing FSB as far as you can as this also OC's your RAM, and I have had more problems with RAM OC'ing than anything else, it tends to be more tempermental. I have heard here more than once that many times Lower ram speeds and lower clocks can be preferable to fast ram with slower clocks..You may want to start by adding voltage to vcore, cpu voltage (or whatever its called on your MOBO) and your CPU-NB voltage to get you over the BSOD bump, as most often I have found at least for me they seem to arise of a lack of voltage to either.. but BE CAREFUL, just because its advertised as being overclock capable doesnt mean it can handle it! Make sure to check manufacturer suggested voltages and such, but of course you can usually stray a ways from those, but just to be safe.. Had a huge post before but then read back through and realized OP covered most of it already! That'll teach me to post without reading everything Keep up the good work!

to the OP,
thank you for taking the time to do this! Great thread!

REP +!

How much would you recommend bumping up the CPU-NB and NB voltage on my motherboard (known for dying randomly, and my motherboard is already half dead xD)

NB voltage can stay at stock voltage because you have only 2 dimms ( I guess ). Or maybe 1 notch ?

CPU-NB under air, I would keep it around 1.35v because of your board.
2 DIMMs @ 3 GHz NB shouldn't take more than 1.35v (most of the time).

I actually have 2Gb of ram just laying around due to one of my RAM pwr phases dying

So only 2 slots are provided with power :/

I currently have 2400mhz @ 1.1v, did try 2.6 @ 1.15v but it wouldn't start so I left it

Gonna try now to see if bumping it up more would help. Wonder if it's worth pushing it up more?

The CPU/NB should be safe at the same limits of your CPU since the IMC is INSIDE the chip itself.

Looking at your CPU, it's at 1.375.

I would feel safe to go up there on air.

most 1.6v ram has been bumbed up to 1.65 and 1.5v ram bumped to 1.6
nb can up to 3000 on a ddr3 board at about 1.4-1.45v. the max is 1.55 same as cpu.
3.8 performs best supposedly at 2800nb. theres a chart around here somewhere with nb speeds/cpu speeds. i cant find it and no idea who posted it.
*this is all what ive read on this forum*
