Can I install Windows 7 from a USB flash drive? what format?

So I finished assembling my spiffy new sandybridge build and dont have Windows 7 on DVD, but I have the ISO I backed up on my old computer.

So, question 1: can I make the flash drive the primary boot device to do a fresh install?

2: my old computer has WinXP pro on it. I tried to format the flash drive I have to NTFS but can only do FaT23 or eFAT. I was reading that you need to format to NTFS to boot from. Is that true? can i do it any other way besides from my computer-right click-format?

3: If i can install from the flash drive can i just put the ISO on there or what format does the image need to be in for it to work?

Thank you so much in advance.
