Also guys, what are the differences for example buying a STX versus buying just an amp for the headphones and powering them that way.

Originally I was using the Asus Xonar DX (front jacks), good sound.
Then I hook up my Beyerdynamic DT 770 80-Ohm to my $60 Muse headphone (tube) amplifier (From China bought off eBay). The Muse helped bring out the best in the DT 770s.
