Advice about fittings... - Page 2

7/16" tubing over 1/2" barbs is actually perfect.

use boiling water to soften the end of the tubing before trying to squeeze it over the barb...once it's on, it's pretty much on for good...may not even have to use clamps.

fillport: up top straight into a t-line or just fill the reservoir with a fill syringe.
drain: as triangle said, lowest point of your case.

those air qc's are horrible for water...I can't even imagine how much they're restricting your loop.

That tubing size should be fine. People say you dont need to use any clamps if u use 7/16 on 1/2 because the 7/16 fits so tightly over the larger barb.

I also own a pair of Koolance QDC's and they dont seem to have impaired flow at all.

Well, the problem is that I want to switch to compression fittings rather than barbs, and according the this chart on FrozenCPU, I can't get compression fittings for 7/16" ID tube?

Which chart are you referring to? There are definitely compression fittings for that size ID...

tubing_compression.jpg

Is this a joke? I mean.. there is a category on here for "7/16" compression fittings, yet it has this image plastered everywhere in the compression fittings section

EDIT: NVM, I think I can just disregard this image, because it's just BS. I think I found what I want.

Well, that makes absolutely no sense like you point out, because otherwise why would they have these? tongue.gif

That is why I was thinking of getting different sized tubing. Seems like there aren't a whole lot of different fittings available for this size...

I used 1/2"ID x 3/4"OD, and while it looks great in larger cases it's a pain in the neck to route just right. (and there are loads of various fittings available for it)
