Let's hear who's happy with there amd cpu!! - Page 7

I blew up my old 500gb hard drive being dumb (literally started on fire) so I used that as a reason to RMA my B2 stepping motherboard. Even though it had two broken dimm slots and I couldn't run my memory in dual channel I'd never have sent it back because I hate using my laptop anymore

I sent my board back on Tuesday of last week (4/19) it was reported to be on the truck ready for delivery Saturday morning via FedEX but they won't deliver it until Monday, at which point I'm not sure how long the turn around is at ASUS for a B2 to B3 stepping board. I assume they just replace the entire board rather than attempt to replace the chipset on the old board (at least I hope so).

No, I RMA'ed a UD4 back a long time ago right as the chipset issue was "discovered". They ate that board so I bought this one used in a combo deal with another i5-2500k which is why I got the i5-2500k so cheap at the time.

Of course not!

I'm happy with my AMD build, it plays BFBC2 so smoothly.

Yeah I didn't like my UD4 very much, I only RMA'ed that because I wanted to switch it up and the recall timing presented a perfect way for me to get a full refund. There was nothing wrong with the board other than the bios was UFEI but had the old interface and was buggy.

The HHD blew because I connected the 5V to the 12v on my pump because I was worried about its performance with the added restriction. It had nothing to do with SB breaking my HHD.

Just to clarify the SB Sata issue (b2 stepping boards) only really affects the board, the HHD would be unaffected outside the possibility of corruption. ASUS also paid for shipping both ways, and offered advance RMA at no cost as well just a deposit.

I pick one company that I am comfortable with, not to say that I don't have 4-5 soc 775 Intel procs that I want to eventually put under DICE. Just waiting to have the fun(ds)

1x core 2 duo 2.6 GHz
3-4x Celeron D's (of varying clock speeds)

Well when I had the K6 300/450 I had not heard a lot about Overclocking, but I used to talk to a few of the "so called" geeks back at High School and they mentioned it and what it does. So that being said I blew the crap out of the 300MHz and I replaced it with the 450 because my uncle and I had a peeing contest with computers.

The Duron I got on the cheap from the local PC shop OEM.
The 2100 xp, my father bought me because I was going to be studying computers a long time ago but didn't so I am having to make up for it now.

The pentium 4 was a quick purchase, I needed a cheap PC to start up shop.

The 6000+ saw me good to 3.679GHz on a Noctua NH-U12P in push pull.

The 720 BE saw me to 3.8 GHz as a tri-core, then it went on to be a champ and unlocked to a quad and went on to 3.7GHz....yay (my skills are getting better)

The 1055T hasn't gone beyond 3.4GHz because I am too busy learning XHTML, VB, OpenCL, Analysis and Design, Cisco networking. But I can say that I did move it to 3GHz but I managed to undervolt it down to 1.86-1.2v. So I think I may of gotten lucky with this CPU also.
Your 6000+ went pretty well and the 720 went well too with a good unlock.
