LoL vs HoN - Page 3

HoN champions are (mostly) a direct copy/paste from DoTA. They have changed the names of course, but the skills/spells are all the same.

LoL has unique champions and focuses more on team-play (it's extremely hard to carry an ENTIRE team in LoL..no one can get "stacked").

LoL and HoN play very similar to DoTA (with HoN being the closest). I play LoL usually because I find too many elitist on HoN.

I personally like LoL more than HoN, however I only played HoN when it was in beta for free. The only game like this that I've paid for is Demigod and that's because it was the first DotA style game that looked interesting to me. Unfortunately Demigod isn't the greatest example of this genre...

Anyhow, I found that HoN felt much more competitive and elitist. Gameplay was very forced and a bit faster paced than LoL but the players seemed to have a much more elitist attitude. LoL on the other hand is a game I actually enjoy to play because it's more laid back and just 'fun' to play.

HoN is a harder more stun based gank game. LoL is a game for a down syndrome monkey who throws poop; he could play and be good at it.

Holy hell, so much of misinformation about LoL in this thread

OK starting with the dood i quoted. The ONLY thing in LoL you have to pay money for is new skins for the Champs. You can use money to get new Champs as well but you earn IP (Earned after every match win or lose) to purchase everything in game including Champs.

As for the "Rambo-style" and "Team Work" thing, i'm sorry but you got it the wrong way round

NO carry in LoL can just up and run into enery turf and even expect to 2v1 let alone 4-5v1 them, especially in the late game. Even hard carries like Miss Fortune need to hide behind her team and wait for them to initiate before she can jump in...

Depends on what kind of gamer you are. If you are more of a competitive guy who wants to put effort and time into a game and become good you should try Hon. If on the other hand you are a casual gamer with no time/interest to invest into a game stick with Lol as the skill and knowledge required is less.

Also i since Lol is free i believe the average age of people playing is much lower than Hon. Not saying that kids cant have access to credit cards but most of them do not.

You are wrong. When you load up the game for the first time, you cannot pick any hero you want to play. You have to either play and "unlock" them with points, or you can purchase those points. It would take you weeks, even months to unlock heroes that way.

When you load up HoN for the first time, all heroes are 100% available to you. How in the **** am I wrong on this?

Why are so many people saying that HoN isn't worth more than $10? Makes no sense. I never played dota, couldn't really get into Demi god and I play both LoL and HoN. HoN has given me over a year of good fun that I can just hop into, albeit after I learned the game. LoL is fine but for the most part there is almost no balance to speak of.

HoN community is the same attitude as LoL. The only reason why people feel HoN is worse is because in HoN, teamwork matters. In LoL you can get by with 3 idiots. In HoN, you rarely can.

HoN challenge is much greater. There is no one hero you can play and guarantee a 80%+ win ratio with. Just not going to happen. It is about good decisions, warding, teamwork and adjusting to your enemy.

Go with HoN if you want a challenge. Go with LoL if you just want to roflstomp enemies with your friends.

Personally, after playing HoN since mid beta and LoL since release. I have to say that HoN is where I go most of the time. I LoL only when I don't want to really care about the result.
