All the people saying HoN is better and requires more skill are doing a fine job of reinforcing the elitist stereotype that game has associated with it... Both games have pros and cons, LoL is much more "casual" friendly but you can get very specialized and put a ton of effort into it and it'll be pretty damn hardcore.

Showing your ignorance of the matter at hand. This is not meant to be an insult.

Major skill based differences between LoL and HoN:

Denying creeps.

Auto attack animation stop and go for last hitting.

Penalty of death in HoN whereas in LoL you only suffer a cooldown with no other penalty.

In LoL you have Baron and few other buffs from Neutrals. HoN you have a kongor as your only real buff. That buff gives you 6 players in a team fight against 5 and after 3 kills of Kongor gives you a 2k health and mana heal drop as well.

Runes on any given HoN map. LoL has no buffs that effect players in such large substantial ways. Barons, blue and red buffs are nice but are all pretty minor. Haste/DoubleDamage buff on any carry pretty much equals 1-3 deaths on the enemy, even early game. Regen/Illu on heroes such as hag and pebbles usually means a powerful gank. Taking a blue/red buff in LoL does NOT equal the same threat.

HoN offers penalties in all aspects of the game. LoL does not. You make a mistake in LoL and all you lost is some xp and gold because you could have been farming. In HoN, your carry getting killed 3 times means he lost AS much gold as the enemy gained because he lost gold from dying each time and missed out on farm during his death timer.

How do you possibly see a lack of skill difference? Can you use the same set of skills in both? Sure. Does it require the same effort where all things equal? Sure. Are all things equal? No.

HoN is a greater challenge if for no reason other than that you have more to worry about and pay attention to.

If you want to play with noobs and get over 9000 kills, go with LoL.

If you want a challenge, go with HoN.

Comments like this enforce an elitist attitude that someone just mentioned. Playing LoL does not mean by any means you are a noob.

HoN has just as many "noobs".

When you load up HoN for the first time, all heroes are 100% available to you. How in the **** am I wrong on this?
If you play for a week and win the majority of matches, you can buy any hero you want... Unless you loose every game, in which case maybe LoL isn't for you, let alone Hon.

I'm giggling at everyone saying it's easy to get kills in LoL.

@OP
HoN has a far harder learning curve compared to LoL, mainly due to denying & losing gold when you die, however both are fun.

I liked HoN more when I played at my cousins house while I was visiting. The game had better gameplay and aspects I liked more than LoL.
