I personally think Karthus has the most irritating/awesome ult.
It's wonderful when you're the one using it, but it really blows chunks when its your head that has the big red beam above it.

Oh man.. I hate that guy, especially if I'm using a melee champion, damn laning phase.

LoL and HoN are the "same" game, but made for different people. LoL is more casual, HoN is more hardcore.

When you load up HoN for the first time, all heroes are 100% available to you. How in the **** am I wrong on this?
@ the bold piece. You play 2-3 games, you can buy a 450 IP champ. Play about 10 games, you have another "pricey" champ.

And the hero-rotation gives you an opportunity to play other champs you don't own/ are interested in owning...

And besides. As a new comer, i quite liked the idea of only have 10 heroes to pick from at the start instead of OMGOVER9000!!1!1!

Becasuse its a reskinned DoTA, that's why...

HoN community is the same attitude as LoL. The only reason why people feel HoN is worse is because in HoN, teamwork matters. In LoL you can get by with 3 idiots. In HoN, you rarely can.

o rly?

You clearly haven't played LoL...

HoN challenge is much greater. There is no one hero you can play and guarantee a 80%+ win ratio with. Just not going to happen. It is about good decisions, warding, teamwork and adjusting to your enemy.

And in LoL this is not the case? Oh yes please troll on with your ignorance.

Yeah in LoL we don't team chat in our mics, we just fart over it and so forth.

And yes we don't ward stuff and adjust our builds either

Go with HoN if you want a challenge. Go with LoL if you just want to roflstomp enemies with your friends.

Personally, after playing HoN since mid beta and LoL since release. I have to say that HoN is where I go most of the time. I LoL only when I don't want to really care about the result.

Major skill based differences between LoL and HoN:

Denying creeps.

Auto attack animation stop and go for last hitting.

Penalty of death in HoN whereas in LoL you only suffer a cooldown with no other penalty.

In LoL you have Baron and few other buffs from Neutrals. HoN you have a kongor as your only real buff. That buff gives you 6 players in a team fight against 5 and after 3 kills of Kongor gives you a 2k health and mana heal drop as well.

Runes on any given HoN map. LoL has no buffs that effect players in such large substantial ways. Barons, blue and red buffs are nice but are all pretty minor. Haste/DoubleDamage buff on any carry pretty much equals 1-3 deaths on the enemy, even early game. Regen/Illu on heroes such as hag and pebbles usually means a powerful gank. Taking a blue/red buff in LoL does NOT equal the same threat.

HoN offers penalties in all aspects of the game. LoL does not. You make a mistake in LoL and all you lost is some xp and gold because you could have been farming. In HoN, your carry getting killed 3 times means he lost AS much gold as the enemy gained because he lost gold from dying each time and missed out on farm during his death timer.

How do you possibly see a lack of skill difference? Can you use the same set of skills in both? Sure. Does it require the same effort where all things equal? Sure. Are all things equal? No.

HoN is a greater challenge if for no reason other than that you have more to worry about and pay attention to.
^ A reasonable, and well put post.

You brought up some good points, but then you screwed it up with your lack of knowledge about decent-to-top level LoL gameplay...

Personally i have nothing against HoN, and i clearly understand how punishing mistakes are in DoTA/HoN. What i do have an issue with are the people, like those in this thread that have ZERO idea how LoL operates, even on a semi-advanced level.

omg guise lets nerd rage about these games and waste our miserable time on trying to be right over the interwebs.

Edit; To any HoN player that plays LoL just to prove kills are easy to get, you guys will rage so hard if you go against me, You will just keep dying and dying then 5 games later still try to prove your point, Then you end up rage quitting and going back to HoN where the kids will fart into their mics.

@Psyren

I already stated that the strats used in HoN can be ported to LoL just fine. LoL strategy for the most part is burst damage and tank builds. In HoN you have a completely different mindset unless you play heroes such as armadon.

LoL is about having a tank to initate with. While in HoN, tanks are not required and most times are not wanted. You want an initiation skill or hero of some sort. Examples being hellbringer, bubbles, behemoth, Legionaire, etc.

Your 86 wins in LoL and no ranked games prove you know a lot about the end game play with a lvl 27 account?

My accounts have been lvl 30 for months. The newest of which is Taemari in LoL. If you wish to argue further I suggest private messages but do not attempt to flame me for ignorance when you have nothing to back it up with.

That is some confidence. Can we get 8 more people, 4 from LoL and 4 from HoN to test this theory?
