LoL is about having a tank to initate with. While in HoN, tanks are not required and most times are not wanted. You want an initiation skill or hero of some sort. Examples being hellbringer, bubbles, behemoth, Legionaire, etc.

Your 86 wins in LoL and no ranked games prove you know a lot about the end game play with a lvl 27 account?

My accounts have been lvl 30 for months. The newest of which is Taemari in LoL. If you wish to argue further I suggest private messages but do not attempt to flame me for ignorance when you have nothing to back it up with.

That is some confidence. Can we get 8 more people, 4 from LoL and 4 from HoN to test this theory?
Lol so what if you're level 30. There are Lv.30's that are tons stupier than the average player. You know how i know? Go play Co-op vs. AI some time

As for ranked play. Unless your ELO > 1600, Ranked isn't exactly all that special either. Sure i might not play ranked, but i follow this game quite a bit so i tend to keep with these things.

Anyway, as for you up and coming challenge, goodluck dood. Hope you and the Hon'nerz can prove us wrong.

You should keep playing LoL. I did a comparison but you can't truly compare LoL to HoN since they're actually two very different games.

Playerbase
More people play LoL than HoN. LoL has over 3 million players (old statistic from July). HoN for sure hasn't broken 1 million and I'd guess the number is actually much lower. Although searches for games doesn't directly correlate to playerbase, google trends shows that LoL has grown steadily and HoN has been declining since its peak. There's a lot more people playing LoL. Even if you do convince your friends to jump from LoL to HoN, you might find yourself jumping back because you'll find out some other friends of yours play LoL. I hear about people moving from HoN to LoL and almost never the other way around.

Gameflow
There's denying in HoN which LoL does not have. Denying leads to passive play and slows down the game. It also enlarges the game imblance of a ranged vs melee champion. LoL has shorter cooldowns and a higher mana pool allowing you to get off more skills and a more active game experience. LoL is more about team play than one person farming for the whole game and suddenly showing up like in HoN. In LoL, mages actually scale into late game whereas they have a huge drop off in HoN.

Competitive Scene
LoL was at last year's WCG (biggest electronic sports gaming event) and is once again in WCG this year. National ESL also picked up LoL over HoN. There's more LoL tournaments than HoN tournaments. Some sponsors do tournaments for both games but it's very rare for them to have HoN tournaments but not LoL.

Replays/Stats
In HoN you can watch every single replay in detail because the server hosts it. LoL has a simple program that does replays because Riot hasn't implemented an official version yet. Stats are more comprehensive and much easier to find in HoN than in LoL. They keep track of the stats internally at Riot but don't reveal them to the public other than the recent match history and ranked games.

Graphics
LoL is a lot more cartoony but the models look better than HoN when zoomed in up close. HoN models look outdated. HoN also has an unnecessary glow and ambient light applied to the game that is confusing and distracting. There is an option to turn off the effects. In general, HoN has a darker look than LoL.

Voice Support
HoN has built in support for voice chat. This can be both a con and pro. It's a positive thing because you can easily connect with other players in game. It's negative because there are kids that have terrible mics and like to scream.

Stick to LoL.

Just looking for a good challenge. I honestly could care less about the result.

Need 3 more HoN players. I would prefer to pull them from OCN. Those not from OCN will have less stake in the challenge.

Wait... so we have some people who are very good at League of Legends and they want to challenge some good HoN players in LoL, and some of those HoN players may not have every played LoL before? LOL

How would that prove anything? They'd have to put in the same time of the game as you did to be on your level to see who was better.

LoL is not an EASY game. Still takes time to master. Tons of time. However, it is still easier to "master" than HoN is. Just the way the games were made.

EDIT - I should probably add I do enjoy LoL a ton, but when it comes to playing with a premade team, HoN is more fulfilling for me.

What? From Wiki:

Quote:
As of February 2011, the game has sold over 400,000 copies,[27] had over 12.3 million downloads, and averages more than 230,000 players per day,[28] with the number of concurrent users online at any given time peaking at 42,000+.[29] S2 Games CTO Shawn Tooley notes that the game has "sold enough copies to crack the top 100 PC game sales of all time."[30] Laura Baker, the director of marketing for S2 Games, has also said that both the "Mac and Linux clients have done well for us."[31]
All the players come from europe, south america or north america. I don't think HoN has been released in Asia, because there are no asian servers - so take that into account.

Denying is essential to competitive play, and requires skill and good timing to deny your creeps and last hit your opponents creeps. This phase only lasts for early game laning, I don't see how it slows the game down. Also, many heroes scale into late game, some better than others. That's why some heroes are called carries, others are support - which encourages team play and strategy. With every hero scaling perfectly it basically takes the strategy out of picking heroes that work well together.

Quote:
GameZebo, in contrast, awarded the game 2.5 stars out of 5, criticizing the game's lack of campaign mode and single player options, and stating that "League of Legends feels like a real time strategy game with all of the strategy taken out.

Maybe true, but game for game HoN is a lot more competitive. The lack of denying takes away a major competitive aspect from early-mid game that was integral to DotA.

Personally I agree and do not exactly see high hopes for the HoNers but that is why it is a CHALLENGE.

I am up for it. I feel my HoN play is much better than my LoL but I want to see how this pans out.

Still need 3 more HoNers.

EDIT - Could all the HoNers willing to participate please send me a PM? This way I can keep track instead of having to search this thread.

Edit -
Denying creeps does not slow down gameplay. It slow the leveling process for an enemy but in fact increases the action in the game since you fight for the same last hits/denies on both your and the enemies creeps while also trying to pay attention to all opportunities for kills on enemy heroes.
