Pick up an external DAC than. It will plug into your computer via digital audio out or USB.

Actually I pulled up my mobo on newegg.. My pci express slot is blocked and my pci e 2.0's are both in use.

However, I do have a pci slot free at the bottom.

Is this the card you were referring to earlier?

I don't believe there was a dx version available.

The capacitors will more than likely make the card to wide to slide between 2 GPU's in XFire.

So it looks like I have to stick with the DG version instead of dx.

Now, can anyone try to give me a comparison of the difference in sound stage between the AD700s and A700s?

Are there any other (sub 170$>) headphones which maybe a better alternative? Sound stage is pretty important but, I think (and could be wrong) that loss of bass would be pretty bad..

I am not the best when it comes to labeling things... but, I know that one set of cheapo gaming headphones I have is open backed.. and some sounds are almost indistinguishable.. or they sound borderline muffled.. EX a gun fires and instead of a "BOOM" its more of a "THUD". I am wondering if maybe its a loss of bass that causes this..

By contrast my ES7's do lack lack the same directional sense the cheapo set give me.. but, footsteps are more distinct.. the fire of the gun is more pronounced and it is funny because, although i have more trouble telling from where I have a much easier time telling if someone is walking.

I would like to have the best of both worlds.. I want pronounced sound and I want the sense of direction..

if there is another pair out there, I am not hellbent on just A700 or AD700 but, those have been in my line of view for a long time now.

The Audio Technica M50's are going to be a better alternative and will offer a bit more bass than the A700's counterpart. If you can splurge, I would highly suggest the Beyerdynamic DT770 32 Ohm version over anything else that has been suggested in this thread.

They offer more bass and are more suited for your musical taste. They retail for $250 but can be had easily at your price point if found used. Hit up Head-Fi.org if your interested.

Will check them out. I am hoping there is some good medium between bass and sound stage.

So list to check now.
