Vertex 3 & x58?

i read somewhere that with the x58's marvel sata 6, it's not as good as say the SB, but does anyone have any idea how much of a performance loss the x58's marvel will have?

Guru3d got around 520 MB/s (seq. read) with the Vertex 3 on the native sata 3 port on a P67 so it seems the Marvell controller on the x58 makes a huge difference.

if you have in mind to stay with x58 for along time.... is better to get 2x vertex2 120 in RAID0.....

vertex3 have sense only with p67.....

The Gigabtye G1 Assassin and Sniper x58 Boards, Have a Revised Marvel Chipset 9821, i belive, that has 2 pci express lans, no bios, and works just as fast the intel p67 chipset.

You can see above though my results for Raid 0 Vertex 3's on X58 are quite impressive. Only the max sequential speed really is limited. And thats the least useful number to have high.

I wonder how fast they go as a straight up boot drive?
Any advantages with a P67 over a X58?

I was under the impression an X58 can get as much out of a Vertex 3/Agility 3 as a P67...?
