Thus the venture continues, on a crap motherboard, with a crap power supply. 3436 is the number so far, anything beyond that has yet to be seen. What I'm referring to of course is the attempts I've made to get my sig rig to see anything past the 3500 mark.

My process has been to mark every setting in an easy way so that I can compare the settings that have passed (passing described as able to boot into windows and pass validation), and those that have failed. The current system that seems to be working for me right now is this:

Test # Multiplier x FSB = CPU speed @ X.XX Volts
x HT Mutli= HT Speed
x 4 = RAM Speed @ X.XX Volts X-X-X-XX 2T Pass/Fail

What you end up with is this:

15x228=3420@1.544v
x5= 1140 FSB
x4= 912 RAM @ 2.1 Volts 5-5-5-17 2T Failed

So after nailing down a reasonable way to keep track of various OC attempts, I started plugging away. Here's what I've got so far. Hopefully some one can help to digest this a little bit.

Test 1 14.5 x 235=3407 @ 1.514v
x5=1175
x4=940 @ 2.1 5-5-5-15 Passed

Test 2 14.5 x 236=3422 @ 1.514
x5=1180
x4=944 @ 2.1v 5-5-5-16 Passed

Test 3 14.5 x 237= 3436 1.514
x5=1185
x4=948 @ 2.1v 5-5-5-16 Passed (Previous Record at this speed)

Now, here's where the questions are. AMD uses "Hypertransport" as a phrase for the FSB. In the BIOS there's an option to adjust the voltage. What should this be set at? The minimum is 1.125 I think, and goes up to about 1.75.

Now another thing about this board is the NB voltage setting actually controls the voltage to the chipset. Anyone have an idea of what this should be set at?

I think with more voltage for the actual northbridge on the CPU, I could get a higher OC. I'm just a little afraid of taking out this chip, as it overclocks pretty well for the cooler and board I'm using, and once I can find a Gigabyte board and some dominators, I should be able to get it pretty high.
