If not I can upload the DSP Manager script to install on the phone. Chances are it will be as most are these days.

But rooting to fix a faulty speaker on a phone that should be covered by warranty should not be an option. Or maybe I'm just finicky and want my stuff to work correctly!

BTW, I'm running a Sense Starburst 1.3.3.3 ROM =D
Well after rooting then putting a non stock rom on it, the in call volume was still average to say the least.

Ive spent too much time on the HTC Desire HD and really cant be stuffed fiddling/tinkering anymore.

Ive put it back to stock and getting it replaced with a Iphone 4.

To be fair my customers have been complaining about similar audio problems with the iPhone 4. I haven't experienced it myself though. Might be that antenna jazz still causing problems.

Sent from my Evo 4G.

People need to stop comparing themselves to their phone. I have an HTC and love it, but that doesn't mean that the guy next to me can't have and iPhone and love it too. If you aren't happy, take it back. No excuses needed and who cares what you aren't happy about. You went above what an average consumer would do and tried to solve the issue by rooting, which is no small task when you're new to the scene and have no idea what you're doing, it all seems daunting, I remember.

Get the iPhone, if you like it, good, if you don't, keep searching. Honestly, these phones cost too much to just settle for ok. And ok is subjective indeed.

Its a known fact that the attenna issues affected the USA more so than other countries.

I live in Sydney Australia and how the network is set up here is different.

http://www.fastcompany.com/1676836/n...edia-invent-it

Plus im pretty sure by now the production line for the Iphone 4 would of resolved the antenna issue.

In that case go for it. I'm just hoping you don't go from one call quality problem and straight into another.

I was playing Angry Birds on my sisters Desire HD on Monday and the sound was perfectly fine.

Your phone is probably borked.
