Help with purchasing a new monitor

Thread Starter
I've had my dell studio xps 1640 for 2 and a half me-- years now and have recently assembled a rig to compensate for my unit being out of date. Ive been hunting for a suitable monitor that renders color similar to the rgbled of my sxps. The biggest problem I have encountered is the availability of units due to my location, the worst of all evils was the samsung PX2370, but no matter how much time I spent into calibrating the monitor I couldn't get the colors to look as vibrant as the sxps (im quite close though). Im still a newbie when it comes to monitors and havent had much experience with them (I dont have a very large budget and cant experiment with models). Due to the unavailability of units, I have to order them outside and therefore cannot physically test/compare them; I would greatly appreciate a recommendation from those of you who have had experience with the dell sxps rgbled monitor and have found monitors that produce colors similar to it. Please give me suggestions of monitors in the following brands: LG, Samsung, HP, Acer, Asus, NEC, Dell.

Ive been researching on the net and have so far found these to be interesting:
1.) EIZO: SX2762W (not available in my location)
2.) Acer G245Hbmid (only a 72% color gamut)
3.) NEC: EA231WMi (rather small NTSC color coverage)
4.) Dell: U2410 (too expensive, perfect for my needs but at a killer price)

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it
