WC Haf X options - noob

Thread Starter
So I have all my parts sitting here wait for my wc components. I've seen tons of different set ups and I like the idea of running a 360 rad on the top with three fans and a 120 rad either in the rear or bottom of the case. Now I've heard you dont need the 120 rad because it causes more restriction but down the line(few months) I would like to add a second GTX580 card. I need to order parts now. I was going to get the XSPC rads with Scythe Gentle Typhoons fans (I heard these are good). What waterblock is best for the gtx580 and 2600k? Also whats the best size tubing to get?

Budget?

There are to ways to go about this. Super expensive, as in the range of 700. Or the lower end around 500 or so.

Well budget isn't a big deal as long as its good quality parts that last. I was already looking to spend 500ish on the wc parts so 700 is fine.

Best waterblocks are mostly based on opinion, as not all review sites even agree with each other as far as the best. I've been using http://skinneelabs.com/ for reviews (but I'm cherry-picking, because I like Swiftech since I've used them before). I'm getting ready to set up my system in a HAF-X, and I was going to go with swiftech radiator, existing Gelid fans from my H50, my old Swiftech D5 pump, Swiftech Apogee XT CPU block (best block according to a few sites), and eventually I'll go watercooling on my 6950, and right now I'm looking at the XSPC 6970 block because it has had good results with forum members.

I'd say google some review sites, since they'll provide the data along with opinions.

Ok so this is what I'm going to need I think
Pump - Res (together? or seperate?)
360 Rad (The rad hook ups will be in the back of the case)
120 Rad
(Rad extra parts?)
Tubing (certain size?, I would like to go UV purple if possible but not a huge deal right now)
Chemicals
CPU Block
GPU Block for gtx580 (I will be adding a second card in a few months)
Fans for Rads
Fan controller - Will this control all the fans in the case? Front, rad fans(same speed?), top, and rear.
anything else I'm missing?
-Edit sorry I forgot to add. I wanna OC to ~4.5. I'm new to oc so I wont be going to crazy with it. I will try oc the gpu as well to get the best performance. If the 120 rad isn't needed then I could drop it but I just don't want to have to add things in later.

Check my sig for pics of version 1 of my HAf X build. Version two I have a 480 rad off the back of the case with a koolance metal mounting bracket and a 360 up top with 13 GT AP15's. Needed more rad for 480's in SLI and figured I'd go for a 480+360

Two rads is not very restrictive at all, especially if you go with a MCP355 aka Laing DDC3.2. It has great head pressure. Blocks are what is restrictive, with chipsets being the most restrictive. Check out some reviews of the 580 blocks and you'll see even they aren't very restrictive. If you go with a Supreme HF CPU block for example it'll be low restriction and amazing performance.

I might warn you against putting a 120 on the back or in the front of the case. They are a little hard to fit and don't add a whole lot of dissipation for the cost of a 120. 240 are great but require a removing the front HDD cage of the HAF X.

I really don't like externally mounting my 480 rad as the HAF X has wheels on the bottom that have allowed me to move the rad into the wall a few times by accident. You should probably avoid this.
