32 Gb Flash dead...or is it?

Hi all,

well, let me get to the point, I bought a OCZ ATV 32Gb flash drive last year and it has been working great for awhile, then I started noticing that while I was coping a couple of large files from it it started to hang or basically not be able to be read, so I stop using it for awhile and forgot about it, today, plugged it in to find the drive is not working at all, infact, the most I get out of it is in Computer manager as the picture below:

so after about 2 hours of mucking around I decided to remove the rubber casing and see if something is broken or a joint it cracked, must admit, I can't see any physical damage, pics below, maybe you see something I missed:

is there anything I can try to kick this flash back into a working order?

much appreciate any assistance you can offer, seems a waste to throw it away

$$$$

Wow, why is it all full of that material? is it glue? Anyhow, it seems okay, probably an internal chip bust.

yeah... wish I knew this before I sliced it open, try to superglue it closed, but you can still see it was opened on the seem. I guess I will toss it then, or I'll try send it back, but normally its the first thing they check.
