Nope, you're wrong.

Yeah but the GTX 590 has 2 low clocked GPUs, if scaling was horrible for Nvidia it wouldn't even win on any game. 2-Way SLI is much different than 4-Way SLI too.

In other words if you disable 1 GPU for both the 6990 and the GTX 590 I bet the GTX 590 loses in even more benchmarks. AMD has great scaling in CF but once you start adding more cards scaling goes down. I think here is where nvidia has the advantage

How did you figure out the scaling?

Also remember that the 6990s were ran with the overclocked bios.

It only really wins on games that have always loved Nvidia cards.

And that over clocking BIOS is a standard feature of the card and is available to use by all users. And with most Venders now offering warranty support for it why not use it?

Scaling depends on the amount of load placed on the cores, The amount of load placed on the cores depends on the strength of that core.

Slower cores always scale better as they're under more stress in the first place so scaling goes through the roof when you add more GPU's *cough* ATI 5770 *cough*

Arguing over this is pointless anyway as BOTH quad-GPU set-ups are CPU limited so neither one is running flat out.

Trub has the single card runs on his tube page.

I was thinking about posting some videos/numbers of SLI scaling using the 3GB 580s as I truly am curious. Not sure how well the 6900 series would fair as I typically use between 2.1-2.9 GB VRAM. I should not be too CPU limited @ 5Ghz. I do not have 6970s anymore so it would just be a SLI reference. The baseline would be two cards as obviously that is needed for nVidia Surround.

Most review sites stick to single display setups for Tri-Quad scaling which is pointless. Not to mention I have never seen a 3GB 580 review worth anything.

Do you agree with this review? Do your 3 580s score better than 2-Way SLI in Crysis Warhead? If so what scaling do you get?

Another game to try would be Civilization V where this review has 2-Way SLI beating 3-Way SLI and sometimes GTX 590 beating SLI GTX 580 haha

I agree that crossfire scaling is pretty damn good and has come a long way. I don't particularly agree in single display setups truly showing the power of scaling to their potential. Especially not with a 3.3Ghz CPU!

It's normal, they are still tougher to find then Unicorns and pink-elephants.

Why would any serious reviewer loose his precious time reviewing a card no one can buy, or need to import?

Vega. You are just a random guy. We don't know anything about you, your agenda, who you are working for. You could be a guy working for Nvidia and we wouldn't know anything about it. Maybe your father, paying for your toys, is working for Nvidia? Who cares about your results?

I will wait for serious reviews from serious reviewers when we (finally!) can buy those impossible to find 580 3 GB for real. Until them, it's just random numbers and videos from a random guy. Maybe even an Nvidia employe that got 4 cards with an employes rebate? Who knows?
