$700 build

Thread Starter
So this is my first post and I'm wondering what people recommend for getting the most power for $700 (not including the case). I've decided for sure I'm going with AMD Phenom II X4 and I'll be cooling with the Corsair H50. Other than that I can't decided what to get. Yes, I will be attempting to OC to 4.0 once it's built.

i5 2500k is $230 at tigerdirect (link http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...161&CatId=6988) regular clock is 3.30GHz. i think its a better choice then the phenom II x4 as well.

For $700 you'll be looking at a build similar to mine. If you can, get an Intel i5 2500k, it's quite a monster when it comes to OC'ing.

the i5 2600k is a better choice for a processor, but it would tighten your budget for a good Graphics card, Hard Drive, operating system, optical drive and RAM.

Okay, so switch the Phenom to the i5. What motherboard would you recommend? I want full atx form. I can't stand micro atx. And at 3.3ghz, firebirdjimbo, I could OC to 4 fairly easily. So as of right now price is looking at $280 for the processor and cooler. I need an MB, Ram (can be cheap, ill OC then upgrade later), GPU and case. Sound card is optional, because I have 4 already and im not an audiophile. Skip the speakers and monitor. Lets talk motherboards. goteamgo!

$420 left to spend for all that^^
