What phone to get?

Thread Starter
I'm eligible for an upgrade this month. I have an enV Touch currently, looking to get a smartphone.

Was going to get the iPhone 4 until my dad got one for his work. I like the Droid X but it seems too big for my taste...I like having a flip/slideout QWERTY kb, so maybe the Droid 2 but it's getting older now.

Anyone have opinions on the HTC phones? Possibly the Incredible or Incredible 2.

It's hard to recommend a specific phone since they're all powerful enough to handle whatever you can throw at them. One exception to that may be flash in a browser, which the Droid Bionic will probably be the only one to be able to do it without stutter. You'll have to wait on that phone though. Rumor has it that it wont be out until the end of this month. Otherwise, choosing a phone is up to the user. I recommend going to a verizon store and playing with the phones until you find one you like. Test out the interface, the responsiveness, and the browser among other things. Don't buy it there though, their prices are much higher than say newegg or amazon.

Never thought to buy a phone off a normal website like newegg. I know the owner of a verizon store locally so I can usually get a good deal, it just can't be a brand new phone (few months old is fine) or else he can't really give me a discount.

I'd personally get the galaxy S because its just so refined and dual cores dont make much difference imo. I tried the atrix and was nothing really special.

My votes for the Droid X or Droid 2. I have the X and will say that it'll be good for at least another year or two. Plus its getting Gingerbread within the next few months.

HTC desire Z? It has a slide out KB, had htc's relatively unlocked bootloader and it can overclock like crazy (I think 1.5ghz isn't uncommon). I know it isn't the newest phone around, and doesn't have the biggest screen but it is a lovely phone, most htc's are(I have a desire myself).

The Thunderbolt looks awesome, it should drop in price a few bucks by the time I can get one.

I've heard mixed reviews about HTC phones but mostly good, I've never owned one but I may look into it.

Decisions, decisions

I've owned most verizon android's and this one's crazy awesome. But the battery life's a little silly. I'm a walking magnet for power...
