and yea, as you can see from my case, i am a firm believer in the fact that duct tape can fix anything
Agreed Back when I had a laptop to play Crysis, I'd take an old mid-tower case, fill it with fans, and duct tape the base of the laptop to the side. Cooled wonders. You could always duct tape the thermostat to a lower temp...

You just have to do more cable management, get the airflow right, the cards need unobstructed air from the intake side.

I'm f@h on 5870s overvolted to 1.2v, 48 % fan speed and maintaining 55-60°c temps.
And right now my pc room is 80°f.
All this in a mid tower case.

well i am noticing how much room you have between the bottom of your case and your second card, i only have around 1cm, it is ridiculously tight...

Ah

Then get creative.
My Tsunami, not know for great airflow, but now it hangs with the best of them.

You could drill some vent holes, or even cut an 80mm hole for a fan directly beneath the card.
I did it with a 120mm hole, helped tremendously.
But I do think clearing out that bottom drivebay will help.

if it makes a difference i usually have the window open right behind the computer and in upstate Vermont that makes a huge difference
