silver arrow vs H50 - Page 3

Silver Arrow, I went from an H70 to a Silver Arrow.

SA is a much better overall cooler.

Thats actually a good idea. I didnt think of that. I will change them tonight and see but I still wish I could pump up the power on that second fan (no fan control options through bios or any software I have found for that second fan). I am thinking about getting a thrid and mounting it in the middle, really like the Thermalright fans.

Lol.. I think you're just trying to find reasons to go with the H50. You made a thread asking for opinions and literally every reply said that it's no match for the SA.

If you really want the H50 that much, then go for it man. If the difference between the coolers isn't going to affect you then get the cooler you want. No sense in buying something when all you're going to be doing is thinking about the other thing.

You should know that while the H50/70 technically have water, a lot of enthusiasts would say it's not "actual" water cooling. That is, it's a closed loop and the res is built into the rad. They are great coolers, don't get me wrong, just saying in general.

There's nothing wrong with buying the car that looks better (to you) instead of the faster one. Granted, you will be able to push your chip further with the SA but it won't matte either way with a modest overclock.

I did get a chuckle out of this thread though:
OP: hey guys! SA or H50??
20 people: SA no question.
OP: I might go with H50. It's water!!

If you go with water. Go with a RASA kit. It is about 10c cooler then the SA or D-14.
EDIT
For the people saying SA is better than D-14.
It all depends on the review you look at. SA trades blows with D-14. I will say the SA and the D-14 are the top 2 air coolers.

Here is another vote for the Silver Arrow. It out perform's the H50/70.
Not be be a ney sayer, but if your going to go water cooling dont do a hybrid kit IMO they are a joke when for about the same price(cheaper if your talking the h70) you can get better performance form air without having water around your computer

The H50 will burn up your mobo in that case,if it is installed in the rear exhaust. No doubt. The SA might too.VRM heatsinks won't help with no air.You really shouldn't even push that X6 that hard with that mainboard,I would rec. replacing the board. With the tower cooler, consider using a halo-frame fan on the pull fan, allows some air to blow down on the VRM's.The CM Excalibur is a good one.

Right im only gonna do a small over clock on this board. My mosfet heatsinks arrived today. Enzotech mos-c1. Will pick up cpu cooler in canada. Do u reckon 2 x 40mm fans above the mosfet coolers will make a big difference to their heat?

Will re-arrange case cooling at the same time
