I flashed it a few days ago and after that i had to restart it twice just to make it turn on and run correctly but now its just staying at a black screen. ive taken my cmos battery out and put it back in. I can't find the damn reset button on my MOBO to do it correctly.. any ideas?

Learning curve did it need to be flashed ?

There should be a 3 pin jumper set somewhere on the mobo remove the battery and the power leads from the board and let it drain for a while,

Also do you have a model number for your MOBO as that could help us help you,

If the flash was executed from beginning to end without errors, there should be no problems. Did you by any chance flash the wrong BIOS update?

If something were to happen (ie: bad flash) it would brick your computer and no CMOS reset can fix it unless you ask the manufacture to send you a new BIOS chip.

You would have to then de-solder the old BIOS chip and re-solder the new one.

I had to update my bios to use a higher frequency of ram. 1066 instead of 800. My MOBO is a ASUS P5NE SLI. I just bought the freakin thing. I found the jumper and stuff. unplugged the battery and jumper. waited a minute then put it back in and its still black screen

Have you tried to boot with one stick of Ram in the board ?

Also when you reset the bios try leaving it all unplugged for a bit longer with the jumpers in the reset position,

When you start to put it back as it should be leave the jumper pins in the reset position and then replace the battery and then the power cables and then swap the reset jumpers back to normal mode.

Good at least your up and running,
What speed is your Ram running at 800 or 1066 ?

completly Set your bios up first and do NOT mess with cpu clocking or ram settings,
once you have the bios set up properly get back to us,

My kingston hyper-x is suppose to run at 1066 but my MOBO for somereason wont save and up it to the correct amount. But normallu when I put my other 4 gbs (runs at 800mhz) of corsair ram with it the bios saves the clock. But i dont want to OC with the Corsair for fear of messing it up. so generally all 8gbs are at 800mhz. I'm just keeping my bios at default. I don't want to mess with anything yet. haha.

Good plan to not mess with it,

you could stick the 1066 in there and down clock the multi and then oc the fsb to get closer the 1066 from 800,

Glad to have helped,
You might want to look at making a crash free bios recovery usb or cd at some point aswell just in case,
