Thinking about water cooling...recommendations?

First off, I'm fairly inexperienced when it comes to water cooling. I know I need a rad, tubes, blocks, and fittings etc, but I'm not sure on precisely what I need and what is the best for my setup. If someone wanted to chime in with some thoughts that would be great. Looking for the best bang for buck (system theme). Keep in mind my case and the fact I will be crossfiring. Thanks a ton OCN.

I hear great things about the rasa kits and supposedly they are good for first time watercoolers.

EDIT: I was in a hurry and just noticed posted a different kit, lol.

Here is a rasa kit....

When you test it for leaks put the case up on two others so the mainboard is upside down.

( yeah "duh" )

Most my water cool experience comes from a different era... we used Prestone and solder. Don't skimp on your hoses tho.

You can get AC powered fans from aquarium supply stores, btw. They can usually produce more bang for the buck on your radiators. You can run the cooling without the computer being on that way, get rid of shutdown heat.

I have also heard this. Will this kit supply me with enough tubes and fittings to throw a couple 6870 blocks in the loop?

I would rather go for the RX360 rasa kit than the EK kit. It comes in a better price too.

And yes it will have enough tubing but not fittings to throw a couple of 6870 blocks. You will need to purchase extra fittings.

The XSPC Rasa kit is a very good kit for beginners. I would highly recommend it.
I would not use the tubing and coolant that comes with it though.
I would get some different tubing. Something like Tygon or whatever.
For the coolant I would pick up a bottle of PT Nuke/killcoil and distilled water. Put in about 1 drop of PT Nuke.
If you got GPU blocks you would not have enough fittings though. You would need to get some more.
If you use 1/2" barbs I would recommend using 7/16"ID tubing for a tighter seal. You wouldn't NEED clamps, but I would highly recommend using them. Unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure you will not have any leaks.
You will need to leak test once you get the loop set up. You will have air bubbles in your loop so you need to tilt your case every different way until all the big bubbles are out then tap the tubs with a finger or a pen or something to get the really small bubbles.

Well as most I would suggest you start here http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ra750rswakit.html and then some PTnuke

But unlike some I will provide the same advice that was given to me when I first asked about watercooling. Start with a small CPU only loop like that kit. After you get yourself wet so to speak with the basics of watercooling and are certain it is what you want and you are ok with all it entails...then you open up your wallet to a more encompassing setup.

After heeding that advice, I am very glad I did, as it kept me from throwing large sums of money down the tubes incorrectly and unnecessarily. That is to say looking back at the crazy ideas and thoughts I had - it was the smarter decision which is now allowing me a better understanding as I piece together a much larger all encompassing loop nearly a year later from my start
