Maybe I could talk my mom into money early, that way it comes like on my birthday, then rest of families birthday money for more ram, or maybe a third card for tri-fire/sli.
If you aren't rendering, editing video or doing a handful of other things, get a 2500k, oc to 4.6-5.0 and dont look back

I'd only have to wait a short time my birthday(1-2 weeks) to get another card. I am looking at the 2500k, but I kind of want the 2600k for hyperthreading and higher benchmarks. Plus I render a little bit. If I have the money, I'll get a 2600k, if not, a 2500k.

Benchmarks are one thing and a totally valid pursuit, but for everyday use and gaming the extra $150 would be better spent on better cards.

Also depending on your cooling you should be able to push more v through your 2500 as the HT adds a decent amount of heat.

Either way a 2500k or 2600k will be a monster.

Yeah, but I'm gonna being getting an ASUS p8p67 pro either way, and they only have two slots. So it's either two 6950s unlocked, or 560s. Or a single 6950 unlocked, with MAYBE a 6990. Plus, can't I turn off HT? Never used Intel much before.

You could turn it off, but then why spend the money?

How much do you want to spend on cards?

If I get two 6950s, probably only like 550 USD or so. Then probably try to get a waterloop. If I don't get a water loop, probably will get a 6990 for tri-fire.

I took mine to 900/1800 when I had them. They got warm though.
