Sell sig rig for 1155 or wait for 2011 - Page 2

Unreal engine (and Borderlands) don't take kindly to AA. If you're on 470 SLI you should be fine. 470 SLI > 570 SLI isn't worth the cost. There is probably something wrong with your setup if you're getting such low performance you may want to OC your CPU if you haven't. It's up to you, you could move to 1155 but then going from 1155 > 2011 (if you decide to) would be pointless.

If I were you i'd sell the CPU and Mobo and maybe 2 of those RAM sticks (if you don't need 8GB - 4 is enough for gaming) and then keep the GPUs because 470 SLI still eats up everything and 570 SLI won't get you mcuh more performance for the added cost.

Thats the only way he'd buy the piece of *brown turd* called am3 motherboard and amd 965.

I'm in alaska, and don't think I'd get anything for it on ebay....
I'm just chosing 570 because I HATE AMD/ATI.
And I don't want to RE BUY 2x 470's.

Don't do 3d on a CRT. Get a 120Hz monitor and save your poor eyeballs.

I own a vg236.
Worst purchase I ever made.
CRT > LCD/LED

LCD/LED pick two
Trace free/no ghoasting, no bright/dark areas, good blacks

CRT
Pick all 3.

Scary dark games arn't meant to be on an LCD.
Black are better, color reproduction is better, no "bright spots" no burn in. CRT is much better and if I could get my hands on a fw900 I would.

Sadly shipping to alaska would be crazy $$$$$$$$$$

I'm sure you could sell them on ebay, try it (just the parts). Obviously you won't get what you paid for them but better than nothing.

Anyone have any reccomended mobo and ram?
I've never actually OC ram before. Not that you really need to.

I'd mostly use my computer for editing homemade vids and uploading them to frost via freenet if you know what I mean.

I understand that you dislike the disadvantages of LCD monitors, but CRT's not only strain your eyes but also cap out around ~85Hz. I'm not sure about you, but a refresh rate of 42Hz per eye does not sound appealing. I've done 3d with a CRT before. Never going back. The 120Hz monitors available now may not be the best, but they're much better than any CRT you can find.
