Suggestions for s Newbie?

Thread Starter
For starters, Hello OCN'ers. I've been poking my nosie about for a week or so now. I am currently using a loptop with a Core II 7200 and 2gb of ram. I have been with it for a while. So I have started a "because I want to" build. I know this will be over kill due to may current usage. But want it just incase I get back in to PC games and drift way form the PS3.

Currently I have:
Case: HAF 932
Power Supply: Extreme 700 - pre-installed in the case
SSD : Crucial C300 128gb
Optical drive: LG 10X Blue Ray buner
Ram: G. Skill Ripjaws X 2x4gb CL8-8-8-24 DDR3-1600
CPU cooler: Noctua NH-D14
OP system: Win 7 home Prem 64

As you can see I have a few things that I still need to order and that will probly be happening this Friday. So I'm thinking:
CPU: i7 2600K ( again "becasue I want to" build and photo editing)

Board: Asus P8P67 deluxe - mainly for the added front usb 3.0 box (can not find this any where by itself).

HDD: this is only for storage and I'm thinking 2 x 1tb in RAID 1. May be the Samsung F3, I see this recomended a lot.

GPU: Nvidia GTX 560Ti - Not sure what brand is the best, suggestions? Leaning in the direction of the MSI Twin Frozer II. This may be SLI'ed if I get back into gaming or replace it with a 570.

Media card reader? I could use something to support SDHC cards.

Also due to the loction of this pc in the room a WiFi card would be helpful. Any suggestions that would work well in this setup? I might also switch out the power supply for a quite modular PSU, suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You're in pretty good shape overall with your choices. Not sure why you'd bother with raid 1 for your media drives though unless you're really worried about drive failure.

The F3 is a good drive, as are the wd blacks.

The 560 ti is a great card, look out for the newegg open box deals you can usually pick one up for $187. LIke you said if you need more power later you can SLI it. The twin frozr cards are usually well recommeded. Not too much to add really it seems you've done your research well. I haven't used any media card readers or wifi cards so can't recommend any.

For PSU's the corsair AX series are very highly recommended as are the seasonic x series.

The front USB box that comes with the Deluxe is a little bit of a pain in that it takes up a fair amount of room. I put mine in a drive bay and I still had a hard time getting the cables to fit in my HAF X case. I am glad to have it, but they could have came up with a much smaller solution I think. I love the board though.
