Back to team Red (for now....)

Thread Starter
Much as I have enjoyed my Asus GTX580's (and my MSI's) I figured it was time to go back to ATI and Crossfire. My last crossfire config was a pair of 6870's (and prior to that crossfired 5970's, 5870's 5850's, 4890's 4870X2's 4870's etc).

I had gone over to Nvidia as a result of some annoying issues with Crossfire. I ended up going single GTX580 (which I really enjoyed) after being driven quietly nuts by a pair of GTX470's (which i was overjoyed to sell...). However while considering SLI 580's (I actually still have two 580's in separate systems), I figured I'd grab a pair of 6970's and give them a go.

Time to give them a whirl and see if they suit my needs (new 30" monitor incoming).

Definitely seeing some crazy frame rates in BC2 over a single 580.

I found MSI afterburner or FRAPS was causing some jerkiness. Removed both and the gameplay is very very smooth.

Micro-stutter that I have seen in past arrays (GTX470 SLI or 5870 crossfire for example) is no longer evident.
