Question Regarding RAM

Thread Starter
At the moment I currently have 8Gbs of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231277 - 4 x2Gb sticks.

I can't seem to find the top or max voltage to go anywhere. I am super knowledgable with RAM voltage and timings. Right now my Ram is at 1600 9-9-9-24tRAS-33tRC-1t

If I try to change any of the first three numbers it wont post the bios, or I will get a BSOD right before windows loads. Just curious if anyone knows anything about this particular ram and what its limits are, or any general tips at all would be much much appreciated!

I wouldn't go pass 1.7v on them. It best u may get 7-9-7-24, but more then likely 8-9-8-24. 4gb sticks are harder to oc then 2gb sticks.

No, he runs 4x2GB
Increase the voltage but don't pass 1.75V

While some of the RAM gurus are in the room, I have a question. I have the exact same RAM mentioned here, the G.Skill Ripjaw F3-12800 CL9. First of all you answered one of my biggest questions already as to how far I could push the voltage, as I was under the impression it was much lower than that so thanks! Currently I am running it at 7-8-7-24 1T @1600mhz and 1.68v on a 4.2x3 overclock using 17.5 X 240 FSB, and 2880mhz, CPU-NB(1.35v) I actually figured it wouldn't even boot but tried anyway, and now I've gone through about 20 or so passes of linX with no failures.. is this a stupid mistake that could cost me some RAM, or if it works can I just run it this way 24/7? Also for the record, after reading all the material about AMD and their chips preferring 1333 as opposed to 1600, I have to respectfully disagree, aside from the fact that stuff often looks one way on paper, but in reality can be much different..and Mark Twain said, "There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.." i.e. processor companies using creative math to "improve" rated speeds, etc...I notice not only a visually detectable difference (icons loading at startup, and programs loading in general, as well as overall responsiveness) but also a difference of about 2 gigaflops in linX testing. (This was done at 1.65v DRAM ,1600 at 8-8-8-24 and 1333 at 7-8-7-25? I think..... I know precision matters in comparisons like these... definitely 8-8-8 and 7-8-7.. not sure about 24 or 25 on 1333, still learning how to configure all of those timings also, so I could be missing something. Long made short, my system definitely performs better @1600 than 1333. Hope that helps somebody... and if someone could tell me if my RAM is going to catch fire while priming tonight, please let me know.
