the thing that I find really weird about BC2 is all the servers use teamspeak..... why not just use a built in one so you can talk to your squad?

Hardcore, a royal ****ton of unlocks, and some customization to weapons, co-op, and jets. I'm sold.

We could implement it but the question is how do you get the threshold lower? That’s not by making it more complicated. Our challenge is to make sure that anyone that just jumps into the game will get it.
Great. Remove successful pieces for no reason at all. Make the game more newb friendly too while you're at it. I don't think they're in it for "PC gamers". Frankly, it seems that our games get easier and easier each year to fill a larger crowed rather then a larger audience.

We don't need hardcore mode. We just need 1 mode, the mode how the game was suppose to be played.

I honestly can't wait for this game. But hearing a lot of this garbage is making me sick. :/

You are living in the past friend. Becareful of nostalgia.

They want everyone to enjoy the game. Those that played BF2 competitively were in the minority. I myself just played for fun which the majority also did. I and many others would just jump in a server, pick a squad, and shoot stuff.

Games today are more streamlined. This isn't 2005. Games evolve. If nothing changed with sequels we'd have no innovation. What's fun about that?

It's like those people that say the old star wars is better than the prequels. It's all nostalgia. I watched all 6 movies but found the prequels better. Why? Because they were more entertaining. I didn't let my nostalgia of the originals get in the way.

I hate that "streamlined" word. In terms of gaming, it has only ever really meant dumbed down. Crysis 2 "streamlined" by removing dedicated suit modes, removing prone, removing lean, removing the option to turn off the suit voice, to change all the controls... etc

Get where I'm going? "Streamlined" games have a lot of essential features missing.

Blasphemy. Any credibility you may have had with this post just went right out the window there!! God were the new ones terrible, how anyone can think they are in even the slightest way better than the originals is beyond me. In fact, how anyone can even find them watchable is beyond me.

Which brings me to my point that just because someone enjoys a previous rendition of something does not mean it is due to nostalgia. You're right, games evolve. Not all evolution is for the better though. Games have evolved to become bigger money machines, not to become better gaming experiences imo

I started playing BF2 for fun when I was quite young. I'm not apart of this supposed minority you are hinting my involvment in.

Games have not evolved. In fact they have taken a few steps backwards. From 2004 and on, except for a few exceptions, we haven't seen any game push the limits of what the "old" could not do or improve on it.

In no means am I in a state of nostalgia. I don't want another BF2 game. I want a game better then BF2; not a hindered, wasted, 30 minute learning curve game that gets boring in a few days. We've seen everything been redone over and over again for the past 7 years. It is getting boring.

i agree, hopefully the ranking in this will make for a very long online multiplayer game, because after i unlock everything the game looses a good bit of entertainment (not to say that i will probably spends weeks worth of playtime on it in the first year its out)
